Padar Island

Exploring the hidden world of Padar Island, is one of the most hunted tourist attractions for tourists visiting the super priority tourist destination Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

The island is known to be very exotic, with stunning natural scenery. So it’s not wrong if many foreign tourists, to the capital’s artists, visit this place a lot.

Exploring Padar Island as the third largest island after Komodo Island and Rinca Island, in the Komodo National Park Area, West Manggarai. This island is located between Komodo Island in the west and Rinca Island in the east.

This island is known for its cluster of hills and has three bays with different colored sand. The three bays with different sand colors are the main attraction.

Padar Ling Pink Beach

The three sand colors are pink, dark brown and white. To see the three bays clearly, visitors must pass around 817 steps.

Apart from these three bays, on the western coast of the island, there are at least 4 bays with pink sands. Most people know it as Long Beach or long pink sand.

Behind the beauty of the curves of the island and the bay, it turns out that Padar Island and its waters are home to deer, snakes and turtles.

This is known based on observational data during monitoring such as data on the number of eggs, egg weight, diameter, type of nest, characteristics of the nest, and width of turtle tracks on the beach.

The Green Turtle is one of two types of turtles that live in the waters of the Komodo National Park. Apart from the Green Turtle, there is also the Hawksbill Turtle (Eretmochelys Imbricata).

Still according to the KSDAE, based on the results of monitoring activities on 11-17 June 2022, there are several potential coastlines at Padar Island that are home to turtles laying eggs.

Based on this analysis, the potential coastlines are the southern part of th island (Turtle Beach and Loh Tongkang Beach), the northern part of Padar (Tanjung Cangtigi), the eastern part of the island (Batu Ring Beach and Bukit Piramid Beach).
